We all know what happens...
You have a Birthday/Graduation/Home-coming/Halloween/Diamond Jubilee/Olympic Ceremony
(delete where applicable)
and you darned well forgot to purchase your Cath Kidston Bunting at £1squillion a yard.
Not to worry, help is at hand....
Use this simple guide for all your
Emergency Bunting needs!

You will need:
Some colourful paper
A pencil and ruler
Scissors
A hole punch
Some string
Something to celebrate
Cake (optional)
Take a sheet of paper, mark the middle of the long side by loosely folding in half and pinching to crease at the side, mark the crease with a pencil. Then mark the centre of each of these halves by loosely folding again and lightly pinching this time at the other side... Join your marks up by using a ruler.
I hope this makes sense, I have included a photo to show you.
I used a sharpie to show in the photo better, but you should use a light pencil mark |
Cut along your lines, this will give you 3 equal sized triangle flags.
Use a hole punch to make holes at the top
Repeat the with the other sheets of paper (use one you have already made as a template)
Thread the flags together using a nice long piece of string.
Pin them up and eat cake.

This is a nice rainy afternoon craft to do with kids.
Try black and orange bunting for halloween
Kids like to decorate the flags with pictures and stickers
... or put letters on them to spell out a message
H-A-P-P-Y- -B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y- -D-A-D
:)
What a fantastic and easy idea! I can't wait to do a version of this for a baby shower I'm planning!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! The great thing about this bunting is that it is so easy and versatile, all you need is the appropriate colours of paper.
ReplyDeleteGood luck for the baby shower !
